24 (Sat) LBJ Jazz Ensemble and Stage Band– compete at the Temple Jr. College Jazz Festival (Temple, Tx)
24 (Sat) LBJ Winterguard competes at “STATE competition - Dripping Springs HS (time tba)
30 (Fri) Pre-UIL Band Concert 7:00pm- Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble (Haynes Theater)
April
11 (Wed) UIL CONTEST Day for Concert Band and Symphonic Band (times- TBA)
12 (Thur) UIL CONTEST Day for Wind Symphony (performance time- TBA)
14 (Sat) Longhorn Jazz Festival @ UT Austin (times tba)
17 (Tue) Drumline/ pit audition #1 4pm – 6pm —LBJ Band Hall
18-20 (W-F) Colorguard orientation- 4:00- 6:00 for all interested in 2012 guard (new & returning members)
24 (Tue) Drumline/ pit audition #2 4pm – 6pm —LBJ Band Hall (1st pit audition)
24 (Tue) All-City Jazz rehearsal – 6:30p — 8pm
27-29 (Fri-Sun) LBJ Band spring trip to “LOST PINES” in Bastrop, Tx (buses leave after school)
May
1 (Tue) Drumline audition #3 ….…… 4pm – 6pm (2nd pit audition)
1 (Tue) All-City Jazz rehearsal ….. 6:30p – 8pm
6 (Sun) AISD Jazz & Pops Concert @ Central Market North (LBJ: mid afternoon time slots)
8 (Tue) Drumline audition #4 ………..4pm – 6pm (3rd pit audition)
11 (Fri) Final LBJ Band Concert – Haynes Theater (SENIOR SALUTE)….7:00pm
10/11 (Th, Fri) Jazz Band auditions (for 2012-2013)-will be held. See website for details (LBJBand.org)
17 (Thur) Officer elections for 2012-2013 year / DM and Section Leader tryouts after school
17 (Thur) Orchestra’s Final Concert – Haynes Theater
19 (Sat) Annual LBJ Band Awards Banquet & Dance – site: JCC 6pm – 12 midnight
21 (Mon) “New-Band-Parent Orientation” meeting w/ band board & directors– 7pm in LBJ Band Hall

June
1 (Fri) LBJ / LASA Graduation Ceremony….. at Frank Erwin Center — time: 3:30pm
1 (Fri) Boot Camp: all new band members and officers (9:00a-12:00p) AND all Colorguard members
1 (Fri) New Officers (2012-2013) 12:15pm lunch (bonding) in the band hall / prepare for Graduation
4-8 (M-F) Percussion Drumline / Pitline Camp #1 – (8:30am-12; and 1pm-4:30pm)
July
9-13 (M-F) “Austin Jazz Project-2012” —10th Anniversary at LBJ (jazz improvisation camp; tuition)
16-20 (M-F) Colorguard— colorguard camp 8:30am – 4:00pm
21 (Sat) DCI SHOW in San Antonio (Alamodome) charter bus leaves at 3:15pm (optional)sign up in May
23-27 (M-F) Colorguard – colorguard camp continues 8:30am – 4:00pm
30 (Mon) Band Officer’s Leadership retreat (8am – 4:30pm) [place to be announced]
31 (Tue) Summer Band – All freshmen, new marchers & percussion report (8:30am – 4:pm, bring lunch)
30 (M)–Aug 3(F) Percussion Drumline / Pitline Camp #2 – (8:30am-12; and 1pm- 4:30pm)
August
1,2,3 (Wed-Fri)) First Day of FULL marching band (Everyone reports) ……8:30am – 4:00pm, bring lunch)
6-10 (M-F) LBJ Summer Band marching practice continues (8:30am – 4pm, bring lunch)
11 (Sat) “EVERYTHING DAY!” (required- all band parents – including students not in marching band) (“come and go” event in the morning – 9-noon) (begin uniform fitting at E-Day)
13-17 (M-F) Summer Band marching practice continues (8:30am – 4pm, bring lunch)
17 (Fri) The Jaguar band’s annual “Ice cream social” & marching exhibition for band families (4:30pm)
20, 21, 22 Summer Band marching practice (8:30am – 4pm, bring lunch)
23 (Thur) Uniform staff to complete fitting the marching band with uniforms (uniform loft)
27 (Mon) First Day of School – AISD
