Welcome to the temporary home of the LASA Raptor Band on the web! We will eventually be moving to a new domain name. Until then, please check here for all the latest information.
FROM THE BAND DIRECTORS
Welcome to the inaugural season of the LASA Raptor Band! The directors are very excited to have you become a member of our band during such a momentous year!
Prospective Student Contact Info
We want to be proactive in getting in touch with you, our prospective LASA Band students! Please fill out this Google form to give us your name and contact info. We’ll use this to keep in touch.
Auditions
Auditions for incoming students will be done through video upload. The auditions will help us place students into the correct band class. All you need to do is put “BAND 1” as your 1st elective choice. All submissions are due by Saturday, May 8th. The audition music will be available on Monday, March 8th.
Spring Camp (*required attendance*)
We will be holding our Spring Camps on Saturdays, April 10 and 24, from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. All new and returning members of the band are required to be there. We will be following UIL and AISD safety protocols. We will have fun playing get-to-know-each-other games, learn some new songs and pieces, and begin working on our music for the fall semester. Wear shorts, t-shirt, and tennis shoes, and bring your own snacks and water bottle.
Colorguard
Special invitation to those who are not in band, but are looking for a very active group to join at your new school: we invite you to consider joining the award winning and exciting LASA Colorguard. The colorguard is the dance, flag, sabre, and rifle section of the band. You will be given a chance to learn new skills and learn to become a performer. We are looking for at least 20 top guys and girls who want to be part of this group.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!!!! Members of the marching band (including colorguard) receive P.E. credit during the fall semester. To discover more about Colorguard, visit https://www.lasahighschool.org/academics/fine-arts/band and scroll down to the video.
